CONCERNS & GRIEVANCES

The Association for Comprehensive Energy Psychology (ACEP) is fully committed to conducting its activities in strict ethical conformance with the American Psychological Association (APA). ACEP complies with its legal and ethical responsibility to be non discriminatory in promotional activities, program content and in the treatment of program participants. The monitoring and assessment of compliance with these standards is the responsibility of the chair of the Education Committee.

While ACEP goes to great lengths to assure fair treatment for all participants and attempts to prevent circumstances in which problems may arise, there will be occasional issues which come to the attention of the Executive Director and the Committee Chairperson that require intervention and/or action. This procedural description serves as a guideline for handling such grievances.

If the grievance concerns a workshop or conference offering, its content, level of presentation or the facilities in which the workshop or conference is offered, the Administrative Manager will offer the following options:

  1. Attempt to move the participant to another workshop or conference. or

  2. Provide credit toward a subsequent year's workshop or conference
    or

  3. Provide full or partial refund of the workshop or conference fee.

  4. If the grievance concerns a faculty member, the CE program administrator/executive director will attempt to arbitrate and resolve the matter.

If you have a grievance, you can call the office at 619-861-2237 or you can send an email to the executive director at admin@energypsych.org.

If the grieved party is a social worker, the CE social work consultant and/or planner will be part of the review process.  The current person filling this role is Debby Vajda, LCSW.

You will need to send a written description of the grievance so that we can evaluate what happened and attempt to find a solution to resolve your grievance.  Either the administrative manager or the executive director will respond to your grievance within 72 hours of receiving it.

ACEP will keep a written record of grievances and their resolution for 7 years.  Grievance information and resolutions will be shared with and used with the education and  planning committees improve future courses.
